    13th Annual National Co-Op Scholarship Program  195 Merit Scholarships Totaling $4.7 million. As the largest independently sponsored merit co-op scholarship program in the United States. These merit co-op scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors  and transfer students who plan to participate in college cooperative education at one of our Partner Institutions.     Varsity Tutors Scholarship
     Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.     College Board Scholarship The College Board Opportunity Scholarships lay out six simple steps that all students can take to get into college. Completing each step will earn a chance for a scholarship; completing all six will ear students a chance to win $40,000 for their college education.     Connections for the Future Scholarship $1000 for a graduating public school senior with disabilities from Bergen, Passaic Hudson, Essex, Morris, Somerset, Union, Warren or Sussex County. This scholarship is open only to graduates of public schools from the above mentioned NJ counties. The connections for the Future Scholarship provides financial support and recognition of students with disabilities graduating from a public school program as they pursue post secondary training, education or other opportunitites'.     Internship Opportunity Assemblyman Roy Freiman seeks interns for his office in Hillsborough. This internship term runs from September through December. Our ideal candidate is an organized and committed student who is eager to join a fast paced environment and build upon their knowledge of the legislative process. Candidates should be professional, quick learners, and phenomenal team players. This internship is unpaid. Ties to LD 16 are helpful, but not necessary.     James Adamec Scholarship

    The James Adamec Memorial Scholarship is in honor of former Somerville Board of Education member James M. "Jim" Adamec.  This scholarship offers a $2,500 award to a graduating senior intending to major in mathematics, engineering, science or finance.  Interested students should display academic achievement and a strong work ethic.     The #89 Scholarship
    This scholarship is in memory of my late brother, Gregory Morris, Class of 1991, who passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 2017. He played Varsity Football and did Varsity Track & Field while at The Ville. It is meant for an athlete that does at least two sports for Somerville HS, has participated at the Varsity level, has made an impact at the varsity level, and has shown leadership qualities. The athlete must also demonstrate the ability to work with teammates of all levels and go out of their way to make others feel included. Application is due via Google doc by April 12, 2019 Application can be found at the following website The #89 Scholarship

    James Kear Hanley Wrestling Scholarship
    This scholarship offers a $500 award to a qualifying senior wrestler who meets the following criteria: Senior Varsity Letter Winner in wrestling, consistent 2.8 minimum gpa, displayed positive commitment at practices and meets, self-motivating, strength of character and integrity, plans to attend school for further education, agrees to a one on one interview, letter of rec from an academic or elective teacher AND from their guidance counselor. Please click on the following link for more information James Kear Hanley Wrestling Scholarship

    THE NEW JERSEY VIETNAM VETERANS' 
     MEMORIAL FOUNDATION
    Each year, the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation awards (2), $2,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are continuing their education in college, university, or at a trade/technical school. 
     
    The awards can be used for anything the students need for their education careers.
     
    Eligible students are:
    • A NJ resident,
    • A graduating high school senior,
    • A visitor to the NJ Vietnam Veterans' Memorial and someone who has written a reflective essay based on this experience.
    Applications may be mailed (to be received in Post Office box by deadline) or dropped off at the Vietnam Era Museum by Friday, April 12, 2019, no later than 4:00 p.m. Applications can be found at the following link The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation

    VNA Nursing and Therapy Scholarship

    Recognizing the growing need for highly qualified nurses and therapists, the VNA of Somerset Hills has established an annual scholarship program. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize outstanding individuals who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership and extracurricular activities and who are planning to attend a baccalaureate degree program in nursing or entering an educational tract for physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy.     Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater will award the von Stade Music Scholarship to one senior from among the high schools who plan on majoring in music next year. The time and place of the auditions will be announced.     Paul F. Davis memorial Scholarship

    Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater will offer on $5000 scholarship to the most deserving senior from all the high schools. This scholarship is awarded in honor of Paul F. Davis, a long time member of the Rotary Club. The Paul F. Davis Memorial Scholarship is awarded in 4 installments, provided the recipient remains enrolled in college and maintains at least a "B" average.     SCC Scholarship Application

    The New Jersey State Elks Special Children's Committee awards two $10,000 scholarships to graduating seniors (one female and one male) and two $4,000 runner-up scholarships for the purpose of assisting students with disabilities in obtaining a college education. Applicant MUST be a bona fide resident of the state of New Jersey and must be a senior attending a New Jersey High School at the time of submitting this application. Applications must be completed in its entirety. The check list on the last page must be adhered to and all applications must be signed by the student applying and his or her parents or guardians.     The Somerville Business and Professional Association would like to acknowledge the support they have received over the years from both the Somerville and Immaculata High School music students at their downtown events.     Keith Hightower was a prominent New Jersey businessman whose respect for intellect and creativity in science, technology and economics has been valued by his family and friends with the dedication of a scholarship in his honor for graduating high school seniors from northern New Jersey.     The Young Entrepreneur Scholarship recognizes achievement, encourages the development of business skills, and salutes the entrepreneurial spirit and the ideal of community service.  The recipient receives a certificate, recognition in the press, and the Anthony F.     Mid New Jersey Youth Soccer Association Memorial Scholarship

    In memory of the many contributions to youth soccer programs and particularly her many years of dedicated service to the Mid-New Jersey Youth Soccer Association, the MNJYSA Board of Directors has created two $1000 scholarships in honor or Liesel Krehan.     Bill Farnan Scholarship Fund

    The awards shall be used to further each recipient's education at college, professional, technical, vocational or business school that will result in enhanching receipiet's marketability in teh Design community. Three (3) $2500 one time non-renewable scholarships are available to applicants. Funds are for tuition only for the school year September, 2019  through June, 2020.
