Dear Class of 2022,
Summer is a great time to get a jump on the many tasks required during the college admissions process. Being proactive will assist in keeping yourself on task during the busy fall season.
- Complete the Student Self-Description in the "About Me" tab in Naviance. This information is used by your counselor when writing your college recommendation.
- Ask your parents to complete the "Parent Brag Sheet". This provides your counselor with additional insight into you as a person.
- Complete the "Teacher Request" #1 & #2. These forms will be used by your teacher who is writing your letter of recommendation. It assists in their description of you as a student in their class, so please be specific.
- Evaluate your testing plan. Check with the colleges you intend to apply to and make sure you have taken all needed assessments. Register for any additional fall testing.
- Finalize your college list. Create a detailed chart of your selections by degree of academic ability, cost, deadlines and required materials.
- Work on your essay. The 2021-22 Common App essay prompts can be found on the Common App website. (https://www.commonapp.org/
- Fulfill specific requirements for athletes and artists. If you are thinking about pursuing the arts or playing a sport, your application process may include additional components.
- Create application accounts on college websites or by using the Common Application. Make sure you are using the 2021-22 version.
