• Dr. Timothy Teehan

Dr. Timothy Teehan began with Somerville Public Schools in October of 2012 as the district’s Academic Achievement Officer.  On July 1, 2017, he began serving the district in a new capacity as the Superintendent of Schools.

Currently, Dr. Teehan is an adjunct professor for Fairleigh Dickinson University and Georgian Court University teaching courses on educational leadership.  Previously, Dr. Teehan had served in roles as a 5th grade teacher, teacher/coordinator of gifted & talented, assistant principal, building administrator, and principal.  In areas outside of education, Dr. Teehan has diverse experiences having managed an amusement park, owned an ice cream business, and worked as a respiratory therapist in hospitals and in the home care setting.

Dr. Teehan's dissertation research focused on improving induction supports and experiences of teachers in their first four years with a district.

"Brown Bag Lunches" are a monthly opportunity for community members to speak with the superintendent about topics of interest to them.  This year, the sessions will provide a different learning focus each time in conjunction with the normal open conversations on topics of interest to the public that take place.  In an effort to enable more to participate, we are trying something new and therefore will be providing the ability for community members to connect virtually, as well.

Please join Dr. Teehan for the monthly "Brown Bag Lunches" either virtually (link) or in the Board conference room at 12:00 pm on the following dates:
